Worldwide cases of water pollution by emerging contaminants: a review

چکیده
Water contamination by emerging contaminants is increasing in the context of rising urbanization, industrialization, and agriculture production. Emerging refers to for which there currently no regulation requiring monitoring or public reporting their presence our water supply wastewaters. There are many such as pesticides, pharmaceuticals, drugs, cosmetics, personal care products, surfactants, cleaning industrial formulations chemicals, food additives, packaging, metalloids, rare earth elements, nanomaterials, microplastics, pathogens. The main sources domestic discharges, hospital effluents, wastewaters, runoff from agriculture, livestock aquaculture, landfill leachates. In particular, effluents municipal wastewater treatment plants major contributors waters. Although chemicals have been recently regulated priority hazardous substances, conventional drinking were not designed remove most contaminants. Here, we review key examples China, Portugal, Mexico, Colombia, Brazil. Examples include persistent organic pollutants polychlorinated biphenyls, dibenzofurans, polybrominated diphenyl ethers, lake ocean ecosystems China; alkylphenols, natural synthetic estrogens, antibiotics, antidepressants Portuguese rivers; hormones, pesticides Mexican, Brazilian, Colombian All continents affected these Wastewater should therefore be upgraded, e.g., addition tertiary systems, limit environmental pollution.

متن کاملWater analysis: emerging contaminants and current issues.
This biennial review covers developments in water analysis over the period of 2003-2004. A few significant references that appeared between January and February 2005 are also included. Analytical Chemistry’s current policy is to limit reviews to include 100-200 significant references and to mainly focus on new trends. As a result, as was done in the previous 2003 water analysis review (1), this...

Emerging contaminant in drinking water has created concerns among public, water supplier and government. Pharmaceutical in water and food even in low concentration have shown potential risks to human. Acetaminophen and ibuprofen are among a set of the most prescribed drugs in the world. In this study raw water and treated drinking water from Latyan drinking water treatment facilities were analy...
متن کاملEmerging chemical contaminants in water and wastewater.
Recent advances in environmental analytical chemistry have resulted in an explosion of knowledge regarding the presence of previously undetectable chemical contaminants in water and wastewater. Many of these contaminants are anthropogenic, resulting from commercial products from human society and subsequently dispersed throughout the aquatic environment, passing between wastewater effluents, na...
